This new offering combines edge computing and IoT, providing a fresh approach to deploying and managing workloads in remote and resource-constrained environments. Red Hat Device Edge offers two deployment options, combining RHEL with Podman for small deployments with static applications, such as IoT devices. It can support a wide range of applications, from IoT gateways to robotics, and can be managed using the Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform. Overall, it is a comprehensive solution for managing workloads at the edge and is now generally available with full support.
