Meta’s Threads social network is expanding its reach by making posts available on platforms like Mastodon through ActivityPub. In a recent announcement, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg expressed optimism for this change. It marks a step towards open connectivity among social networks, unlike traditional closed platforms. Platforms supporting ActivityPub, such as Mastodon, Friendica, Libervia, and Micro.blog, have embraced this interoperability. Reports have surfaced about Mastodon users accessing Threads content, showing that the change is in effect. In addition to this, Threads has also expanded its availability across Europe and introduced new features like profile deletion and hashtag support.
