I’ve been a loyal user of Google’s Pixel phones for years, but I haven’t fully embraced Google Assistant. As a professional writer, I prefer typing over using speech-to-text. I’m concerned about the potential privacy implications of AI replacing Assistant and where the processing of AI-powered queries will take place. There are also questions about data security and the cost to consumers. Until Google addresses these concerns, I’m hesitant to fully embrace AI-powered assistants. 2024 will be an interesting year for phone technology.
