I talk to my coworkers using Slack because when you work remotely, you can’t have real-time communication. Slack notification sounds became missing after an upgrade to my Mac, but I’ve figured out how to fix it. Ensure that your workspace preferences enable notifications and check that your system sound is on. Also, check the notifications in the Mac’s settings panel to make sure they’re allowed for Slack. Other tips include allowing sounds for Slack notifications, double-checking the Sound settings, unpausing notifications, and checking if an external monitor is impacting sounds. Additionally, you can set system notification preferences in Windows and test the notifications using Slack itself. All these tips served to restore my Slack notifications, hence improving my workflow. If you have more tips on how to handle Slack and other notifications, be sure to share them.
