The Denon PerL Pro earbuds are my baseline for optimal sound in earbuds, but the Pixel Buds Pro are also great. A small adjustment gets Pixel Buds Pro close to the quality of the Denons. If you have a Pixel phone, the tweak is simple and built-in. Unlike other earbuds, no app installation is required for adjusting the sound on Pixel Buds Pro. Connectivity with the Pixel phone is effortless, as Android takes care of the connection. However, locating the custom EQ option on the Pixel Buds Pro is not intuitive. To make EQ adjustments, you need Pixel Buds Pro paired with a Pixel phone. The first step is to insert the earbuds, ensure a connection with your Pixel phone, then navigate to the Sound section in the Connected Devices page. From there, you can customize the EQ by tapping the gear icon associated with the Equalizer, and adjust the sliders to achieve perfect sound. These changes do not need to be saved, as Android remembers them in real time. Once the adjustments are made, you can close the Settings app and enjoy improved sound from the Pixel Buds Pro.
