The new features coming to Google’s Messages app include Photomoji, Screen Effects, Custom Bubbles, Reaction Effects, Animated Emoji, and Profiles. These features were introduced as a response to Apple’s similar features in its messaging app. Photomoji allows you to crop a subject from an image and send it as a message reaction. Screen Effects adds burst of colors and animations to specific message prompts, while Custom Bubbles let you personalize the color of chat threads. Reaction Effects provides more depth and flare to message reactions, while Animated Emoji brings life to conversations. Profiles function like a business card for Google products and services. To access these new features, you need to update the app from the Google Play Store and enroll in the beta program.
