Google Drive is a popular cloud storage option, known for its security. However, recent reports of users losing months’ worth of files have raised concerns. Recovery methods suggested by Google support have not been effective, with complaints of a “horrible problem” with no solution. Google has acknowledged the issue, stating that it is investigating and working to resolve the problem. The company has advised users not to delete or move the app data folder or disconnect their account, and to make a copy of the app data folder if there is space on their hard drive. While Google has not confirmed if the missing files can be recovered, an unofficial workaround has been suggested by a user in the community. Despite the lack of an official statement from Google, the existence of potential solutions is promising.
