Amazon has announced its own video casting option, Matter Casting, that allows users to stream videos from certain apps on their phones and tablets to Fire TV and Echo Show 15 devices. Currently, Matter Casting can only cast Prime Video content to the Echo Show 15, but support for Fire TV devices and other streaming services will be added in the future. This new feature is part of an open technology standard known as Matter, which aims to improve smart home connectivity and interoperability. While Amazon, Apple, and Google are all members of the Connectivity Standards Alliance and support the Matter standard, Amazon’s Matter Casting feature is the first demo of implementing the new technology.
